Downloading Software to your Windows Computer Using Internet Explorer

Go to → MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center ← Download Software Here

Downloading the cd-rom ISO images or self-extracting executables via the Secure Delivery Client will be something like the following. This description is not intended to cover every step. Individual results may vary depending on browser settings. You can use other browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox to access the MSDN Software Center but the software download process is slightly different.

Clicking the Download button after software purchase.

This will start the download of the Secure Delivery Client software. Select run. (If you are using Mozilla Firefox, save the downloader application instead to your computer and then run the executable. This is also possible via Internet Explorer but adds an additional step that is usually unnecessary. Warning, sometimes the downloader application does not save with the .exe file extension. If this happens, rename the file by adding ".exe" and then run the downloader program. Firefox tends to do this.)

Security Warning. You may see a warning like the one below depending on your browser settings. Select run.

The Secure Delivery Client. Enter the download location in the field and select continue. The location shown is the default.

CD-ROM ISO Image is being downloaded. Once downloaded, the encrypted file will be "unpacked" and the unencrypted ISO image will then be accessible. Use your cd-writer to write the ISO image to a CD. For help writing ISO files to CD, see this.
